Weiwei was abandoned in the street in Wuhan. His former owner fastened him to a pole, put beside him a board box on which were written: The owner went abroad. “Beloved” dog asks to be adopted. Take him if you want. The brief 15 words turned Weiwei instantly to a stray dog. The companionship for more than a year disappeared with these words. A kind hearted person took Weiwei to a clinic for a checkup. The diagnose was that his left eye was permanently blind. Perhaps because of this Weiwei became a stray dog. Later, a loving volunteer in the GAPI team sponsored for Weiwei, and also paid for another checkup in a professional vet clinic to see if his eyesight could be recovered through treatment or surgery. But unfortunately, the specialist said that perhaps because when Weiwei’s eye was injured or infected, his owner didn’t give him timely treatment, his eyesight on the left couldn’t be recovered. But the blind left eye doesn’t affect Weiwei’s happy life in the animal base. He played with his friends happily in the base, gains weight every day. Although he was wanted by a kind person in Canada, because of Covid-19, he is still in Wuhan base. While we wait for people who could take Weiwei to Canada, he is available to be adopted inside our country. If someone feels having a good connection with him, please take him home and let him enjoy the warmth of a family.
