Our Story

Global Animal Protection (GAPI) was established in November 2020. At present, GAPI has partnership with many animal protection bases and organizations in China and is committed to rescuing and fostering stray animals in need. Moreover, GAPI strives to help these animals find new families and adopters through various social media and platforms.

​Before the organization was established, we had already started various animal rescue operations. We had accumulated rich experience in animal rescue operations, and we had also met many like-minded volunteers. Because we saw too many stray animals and wild animals lacking basic protection and living environment, we really wanted to be able to provide them with more help. Thus we decided to establish GAPI to help these animals in a more formal and standardized way. At present, our volunteers in China organize or participate in front-line animal rescue operations almost every week, rescuing stray dogs and other animals, and take care of them at various bases. We will update more rescue diaries and animals that are ready for adoption on our website and social platforms such as Xiaohongshu and WeChat public account in a timely manner.

Our main actions and goals:

• Rescue and relocate animals that are about to be slaughtered, being tortured or astray, and provide them temporary/permanent shelter in our animal shelters.

• Promote adoption instead of purchase.

• Finding suitable adopters and sponsors for rescued animals if applicable (China and overseas).

• Recruit flying volunteers for overseas adoption. 

• Open a non-profit pet training school in China to promote the correct attitude and method of raising pets. Help pet owners learn how to correct the bad habits of family pets and indirectly reduce the abandonment behavior caused by them.

• Establish cooperation with kindergartens, schools or groups to promote the concept of animal care and animal protection for children from an early age.
